Here’s the Cover of My Next Book!
releasing 1.25.26
Friends.
I’ve been quietly working on a new book for the last year and it releases next month - January 25, 2026 ... my 44th birthday. Of the 3 books I’ve written, this one feels closest to my heart and I think that will be evident just a few pages in.
The title? “Letters From My Soul: A Collection of Essays (From My Soul) About What Life is Teaching Me Through the Ups and Downs, Highs and Lows”.
Coming in at around 220 pages, the book contains 31 essays; each essay is either (1) a story from my life that has taught me a valuable lesson or (2) a thought or idea or concept that I’ve been pondering over the years.
8 of the chapters have previously appeared on the What If Project blog (ex. “Jesus Never Asked Us To Flip Tables”, “Lessons From My Crawl Space”, “The Good MAGA Samaritan”, etc.) while the others are new with new stories (some of which I’ve never shared before, like the time the cops came to Starbucks because I got into a heated exchange with the woman ahead of me in line who called the Barista “fat” - true story).
Ahh, yes. So many lessons and stories - and only a small, small sampling of many more!
4 things to note:
ONE: the book will be available on Amazon via paperback or if you’d like a signed copy I can mail you one.
TWO: it will not be available on Kindle but am happy to email you a PDF if digital reading is your jam.
THREE: the price will be set on Amazon at $19.99 but (as is true with all of my work), if you can’t swing the price and really want one just let me know and I’ll mail it to you for free as I can get the books a little cheaper since I’m the author.
FOUR: if you’d like the What If Project trilogy of books, I’ll send you signed copies of all 3 of my books for $50 or whatever price you’d like to name. They are remarkably different and (when read back to back to back) really (I think) show the evolution of my faith over the last 5-ish years.
More details and thoughts to come.
Oh.
And if you’d like to support my work other than by purchasing a book or painting, you can give monthly at Patreon or here on Substack or send a gift via Venmo or PayPal or the Cash App (DM me for more info!). All the money the project makes goes towards our monthly groceries and occasionally restocking on some art supplies - we are most grateful!
Much love.

Proud of you! Looking forward to these letters. I hope the experience of writing them was fruitful for you. My experience writing a memoir was that it led to insight that could've come no other way. And (I'm 11 yrs older than you) to a renewed perspective on how fast this world is changing. Keep on truckin'!
