If you’re writing a book about one of the 4 Gospels you need to run the idea OF the book and the many ideas IN the book by people who know a lot more than you.

And so before I landed on making this book public I sent it to my friend Alexander John Shaia and asked him if he’d read it and write the foreword ONLY IF it would be something he’d be comfortable having his name attached to.

Alexander John?

He’s been studying the Gospels for the majority of his life and he has an amazing book about them called “Heart and Mind” (that I reference no less than 32,000 times in my book - go buy it, you won’t be sorry). I’m not sure there’s a human being who has ever lived that has opened my eyes to the beauty and depth of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John more than Alexander John Shaia.

Anyways - I received his foreword this morning and … I’m honored.

I wanted to share it with you all (it’s pasted below). Thanks so much for your support, your encouragement, and for being on the journey of grief with me.

I am forever grateful.

Do we ever know the day our life will change - and change forever?

For me, it was November 1st in the year 2000. During the day, I had hiked in the canyons of Northern New Mexico. And that evening I was tired, yet my mind would not rest. Sitting on the bedstand was a newly released book about the names of Jesus in the gospels. Ah! Surely a few pages of reading this, and I will be soundly asleep.

Then, my life changed.
