Friends.
Are you as into the Sonic the Hedgehog movies as I am? I played the games when I was a kid and ABSOLUTELY. ADORE. the movies. They are wonderful!
AND.
Fun fact.
Did you know that Jim Carrey was all but ready to retire until he was handed the script for Sonic 3 and asked to play Dr. Robotnik again? YES. The storyline in Sonic 3 was SO good (Sonic 1 and 2 are great too), it literally lured him out of retirement.
Anyways.
There’s this line in Sonic 3 where Sonic is hanging out with his human friend (Tom) talking about some of the hardships and struggles Sonic has been through over the course of his life and Tom says to him, “I know it hasn’t been easy, Sonic, but you didn’t change who you are inside.”
I feel that.
My life has been hard. Not as hard as others, of course, but I’m learning to not minimize my own hardships because they don’t appear to be as hard as someone else’s. It’s been hard and some days it just feels like it gets harder and heavier with various curveballs that seem to come from here, there, and everywhere.
Even so?
It hasn’t changed me on the inside other than mold me, stretch me, and help grow a little bit closer into the person I’ve been created to be.
Yes.
As one of my favorite Green Day songs says, “I’m still breathing.”
Do you like this painting? It’s in the Art Studio for $250, but if $250 is out of your price range just message me an offer and whatever it is (even $0), I’ll drop it in the mail next week. I didn’t make it for money, I made it for the JOY it brought me as I pondered the story and put the colors on the canvas. And if it brings you joy too? That’s just icing on the already delicious cake.
Oh.
And here’s Sonic next to his buddy, Knuckles. How cool is this?
Much love,
