Friends.
I can remember laughing as a kid every time Popeye would squeeze his can of spinach, turning his arms into giant torpedos that could go through anything.
And one of his key quotes?
“I YAM WHAT I YAM!” (*translated without the Popeye accent, “I am what I am.”)
Phew.
There’s freedom in that, isn’t there?
I am.
What.
I am.
… I love that because I’m in a season of life where I’m learning to be OK with who I am, even if those around me aren’t.
I Am a Christ-following person who is trying to practice a life of love and compassion and inclusivity and diversity and Oneness (with others and God) and curiosity … a life that often goes against the grain of how other Christ-following people, podcasters, writers, etc. think such a life should look …
A life that is going to invest less energy in trying to change the things of the world I cannot change and more energy in cultivating a life that will make a difference in the lives of those around me, regardless of the state of the world we are in.
A life that is going to build more tables and less walls.
A life that is going to ask more questions than make loud statements.
A life that will aim to remember who people really are (love) even when they appear to have forgotten.
A life that will do it’s best to listen to the intuitive voice inside even when the voices around me scream that I’m going in the wrong direction.
Indeed - “I Yam What I Yam.”
This one is in the Art Studio for $250, but as always - send me an offer in your budget (even $0) and I will get it in the mail next week.
Much love,
