Friends.
I used to love the Carebears when I was a kid (I still do, actually). And my favorite? Grumpy Bear, of course. He showed us 80’s kids that it’s OK to be sad sometimes, OK to frown … and even on our grumpiest days?
We are still loved.
AND.
We can still choose to love others.
And so this canvas is of Grumpy Bear with his typical frown, but choosing to love and encourage anyways.
And note: the love he’s sending from his tummy? He’s not sending it to someone up close, right? There’s no one on the canvas except for him. This is important (to me, anyways) because it reminds me that we don’t need to be best friends with someone or even in a relationship with them in order to send them some love.
Some relationships have ended.
Some people aren’t safe for us to be in a relationship with.
Some people have burned us again and again.
Some people need to be distanced from us.
BUT.
We can still choose to send them love with our thoughts, with our energy. We can still wish them well. We can still hope that God or Spirit or the Universe or whatever helps them remember who they really are. We can still hope and believe and long for the very best for them.
Look at Jesus, right? He was nailed to the cross and what did he say? “Father forgive them (those who put me here) for they know not what they do.”
He didn’t curse them.
He didn’t blast them.
He didn’t get off the cross and have lunch with them.
No.
Instead, he just blessed them with his final words.
And so today I choose to be like Grumpy Bear - there’s lots of things in the world to be grumpy about, lots of things in life flying at us from this direction and that, a few handfuls of people that (I admit) I want nothing to do with for the rest of my days on this earth.
BUT.
I send them love.
I send them hope.
I wish them well.
I want the best for them.
I bless them.
This one is $275 in the Art Studio, but if you want it and can’t swing it - just send me an offer of whatever fits your budget and it’s yours (even $0).
Oh.
And those sprinkles - they are resin sprinkles glued onto the surface with a shiny finish sprayed on top. Why? Because what better way to express love and joy and hope and blessings than with RAINBOW SPRINKLES?
Amen?
Amen.
Much love,
