Podcast Lineup
Guests for 2026 Q1

Friends.
I announced last month that I’ll be rolling out a new format in 2026 for the What If Project. Instead of releasing a new episode every week, I’ll be dropping one episode every month with the other weeks being dedicated to blog posts, art drops, and other creative adventures.
And.
So.
People have been asking - “who will the guests be?!” And that’s an INTERESTING question because the reality is that I have SO MANY people I want to talk to, but since I’m only releasing 12 episodes (13, actually - I’ll explain below) - I’ve gotta make some tough choices! 2026 will feature A LOT of new guests with a few returning guests as well; and I’m excited to say that the list of guests is already made and the scheduling has begun!
That said, here’s the line up for January - March. There will be TWO episodes in February (which will make for a total of 13 planned episodes in 2026) because both guests have books releasing that month and their publishers asked if I might bend my plan a little bit to accomodate them both (of which I gladly obliged!).
Anyways.
Here are our first 4 guests. Are you excited?! I am!
JANUARY: Dr. Hugo Mendez / “The Gospel of John: A New History”
Hugo is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he specializes in the New Testament and its early reception. He has research interests in the Gospel and Epistles of John and the reception of biblical texts, figures, and images in late antiquity.

FEBRUARY (2): NT Wright / “God’s Homecoming: The Forgotten Promise of Future Renewal”

He was formerly a Research Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at St. Mary’s College in the University of St. Andrews. He also studied for the ministry at Wycliffe Hall, and was ordained at Merton College, Oxford.Wright holds a Doctor of Divinity from Oxford University in addition to several honorary doctorates. Wright has written over 70 books.
MARCH: Scott Gelfand / “Thinking Ethically: A Handbook for Making Moral Choices”

He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. It’s going to be a great year, friends. Lots of conversations coming up about everything from theology to unity to inner child work to nervous system regulation … and more.
That said - which one of these 4 are you most excited for? Reply to this email and let me know or drop a note in the comments.
