Loved your article! My thinking pretty much morphed this direction! Logically thinking those that never became literate had a chance to know our God of the Bible. Only the educated/ wealthy of past generations could achieve that knowledge. Does this mindset make a God based on knowledge? It reminds me of Adam & Eve's desire for knowledge. I see generations idolizing the book but not seeing the Jesus story enough to influence them to be a follower. Knowledge has trumped so much in the church organizations of my life. Something I have found to be so sad and driven us to where we are politically today. I still believe Gods ways (if practiced) would/change the world!
