Hello friends.
A little update to schedules and things. While the podcast has been on Holiday Break, I’ve been posting here, whatifproject.net/blog, and Patreon (pretty much) once a week along with occasional posts about new paintings and things. As the podcast comes back to a bi-weekly release (on January 27), the blog will also move to a bi-weekly release so that a podcast is released one week, a blog/Substack/Patreon post the next, podcast, blog, etc, etc, etc.
And so here’s what the next few months are looking like (unless I change something, which is always possible - HA!):
January 20 - Blog Post
January 27 - Stuart Semple on Art and Creativity
February 3 - Blog Post
February 10 - James Danaher on the Deeper Life of Jesus
February 17 - Blog Post
February 24 - Justin Scoggins on Tattoos, Art, and Jesus
March 3 - Blog Post
March 10 - Larry Jordan and The Way
March 17 - Blog Post
March 24 - Liz Charlotte Grant and Finding God in the Bible After Losing Faith in the Bible
I’ll use this space to announce new episodes (with links to audio/video), so you’ll continue to get an email from me every Monday or so and I’ll also continue sending along some art that I’m making too.
A reminder about the art - if you see something you like, you can just make me an offer. I put suggested prices on the website, but I’ve had people pay as little as $0 - they loved what they saw, it made them feel some joy, but they didn’t have the extra cash to spend … and so I sent it to them anyways.
Some would say that’s a “bad business model”, but for me this art journey isn’t about making money (although I’m very grateful when someone can and wants to pay the price on the piece); instead, it’s about using color and cartoons and imagination to awaken something within ME. And if someone else experiences that spark of aliveness, as well? All the better!
Yes.
That’s the mission, really - to spread joy, to awaken our inner child, to remind our younger selves of the dreams and joys that stemmed from the characters that once lit up our screens and imaginations.
Anyways, that’s all for now. I’m working on a new painting, I’ll share it with you soon.
Until then - peace and love.
